Old Habits Never Die

Old habits never die,
But new ones are born,
All of the time, yeah.
One of these days,
These habits,
Are gonna take me to the other side,
But I can't give them up,
I've gotta have them to live my life right.

I use caffeine to start the day,
And Mary Jane to end it,
Nicotine on my break,
Alcohol when I'm on the mend,
But they say that it's not sane,
They say that I'm dependent,
But I know it's just a game,
So I'm not gonna defend.

When they say that,
If I don't stop, then I'll die,
But if I do, I'll still die,
So either way,
Well it's all the same,
And I'm just gonna live my life,
‘Cause old habits never die,
No, no they never die,

I like to drive fast in the rain,
And have unprotected sex,
I get the munchies late,
While I binge watch Netflix,
They say I should slow down,
Or maybe get some sleep,
And I know without a doubt,
That I'm in too deep.

When they say that,
If I don't stop, then I'll die,
But if I do, I'll still die,
So either way,
Well it's all the same,
So I'm just gonna live my life,
‘Cause old habits never die,
No no they never die.

You can try to just let them be,
Hope they fade away for you quietly,
But wait and you’ll see, you’ll see,
You’ll see that I’m right,
They never die.

And all my lovers feel the same,
That's why I always leave them,
‘Cause they’re wanting me to change,
From the moment I first meet them,
When they're saying how I'm wrong,
While telling me what's right,
I think I'd rather sing my songs,
Than sleep with them at night.

When they say that,
If I don't stop, then I'll die,
But if I do, I'll still die,
So either way,
Well it's all the same,
And I'm just gonna live my life,
‘Cause old habits never die,
No no they never die.

Old habits never die,
But new ones are born,
All of the time, yeah.
One of these days,
These habits,
Are gonna take me to the other side,
No, I can't give them up,
I've gotta have them to live my life right,
Old habits never die.
